Reliable Flow Control for Transportation, Storage, and Distribution

Fleyenda Electric Sanitary Ball Valve Installed in a Wine Filtration System

At Fleyenda Flow, we know that cleanliness, precision, and process control are essential pillars in winemaking. Recently, we worked with a leading wine producer to deliver a fully automated, hygienic valve solution that ensures smooth wine filtration, precise flow regulation, and maximum product integrity — all while minimizing downtime for cleaning and maintenance.

The Project

The client’s filtration line needed more than just on-off valves. Their goal was to achieve accurate switching between process lines, fine flow adjustment during filtration stages, and strict sanitary compliance for CIP (clean-in-place) operations.

After a detailed assessment, Fleyenda provided a stainless steel electric 3-way sanitary ball valve for flow switching, and a 30° electric V-port ball valve to enable smooth and precise throttling throughout the filtration process.

Valve Selection & Technical Highlights

These aren’t just standard components — each valve was selected and configured for the unique needs of winery applications:

  • Material: Made from food-grade INOX 316 stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and full sanitary compatibility.
  • Sealing: Equipped with PTFE (Teflon) seats and seals to resist cleaning chemicals while maintaining smooth operation during media transitions.
  • Actuation: Fully electric actuators provide reliable performance and can be integrated into centralized control systems.
  • Connection: Flanged ends allow for easy disassembly and system maintenance.
  • 3-Way Ball Valve: Enables rapid directional switching with minimal dead space — critical for preventing fluid retention and cross-contamination.
  • V-Port Ball Valve (30°): Allows controlled, gradual changes in flow rate, preserving wine texture and filtration stability.

Clean Design. Clear Results.

One standout feature that won the client’s trust was the dead-leg-free internal design, reducing the chance of stagnant residue in the valve cavity — a common risk in traditional designs. This hygienic construction not only boosts safety but also extends cleaning intervals.

Combined with rapid electric actuation, these valves helped the client reduce manual intervention, increase batch consistency, and speed up cleaning cycles, all without compromising on product quality.

Empowering Automation in Winemaking

This installation is part of a broader trend: modern wineries are embracing automation, not just for efficiency but to protect the craftsmanship behind every bottle. With Fleyenda’s flow control expertise, our client now enjoys:

  • Precise control over flow velocity and filtration pressure
  • Fewer losses during valve transitions
  • Cleaner pipelines and fewer shutdowns

At Fleyenda Flow, we specialize in customized valve solutions that elevate industrial processing across food, beverage, and sanitary industries.
